Christine Nancarrow, QISP, QSP/QSD, CESCL
Managing Principal
With more than 20 years of experience as an Engineering Geologist, Ms. Nancarrow’s expertise lies in the management of environmental monitoring programs, groundwater and stormwater treatment for heavy metals, technical expert litigation support, NPDES permit compliance, and the implementation of comprehensive environmental programs in industrial facilities. She has experience in the remediation of heavy metals and hexavalent chromium of similar large, complex, multi-party, high-profile RCRA sites under the direction and regulatory authority of the US EPA, various state agencies including WA Ecology, CA DTSC, CA RWQCB, AZ DEQ, as well as tribal and local municipalities. Ms. Nancarrow has experience with forensic geochemical fingerprinting of chromium isotopes and all phases of active remediation projects including site investigation, characterization of the nature and extent of contamination, remedial strategy feasibility evaluation, pilot testing, system construction, start-up, O&M, and optimization. Her remediation experience was utilized as a Project Manager for the Department of Ecology’s multiyear NPDES Inspection Sampling Support Project, where over 40 facilities contributing to the Lower Duwamish Superfund Site were inspected and sampled. Ms. Nancarrow has co-authored 3 technical papers regarding in-situ remediation of heavy metals in groundwater, and she has received 3 Exceptional Performance Awards from her prior work on the Boeing Remediation Program in Southern California. She has served as a committee member on several EPA ITRC teams, including the Sediment Remediation team and the Mine Water Treatment team. Most recently, she served on their Stormwater BMP Performance Evaluation Team (check out their guidance information here), whose work included the creation of a tool to help regulatory agencies and design engineers chose the best stormwater treatment options available (learn more about the ITRC’s BMP Screening Tool here). When Christine isn't busy working or chasing her kiddo around, she dabbles in building a wooden kayak and spends time plotting her next international adventure.
